Nicolas Jackson, born on June 20, 2001, in Banjul, Gambia, holds dual citizenship from Senegal and Gambia. He is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a center forward or winger. In his early career, he played for ASC Telegone before joining Casa Sports; in the 2018–19 season, he became a member of the first team and was named Player of the Match on several occasions. In September 2019, he joined Villarreal’s youth team, and during the 2020–21 season, he was loaned to Mirandés in Segunda División, where he made his professional debut and scored his first goal. After returning, he played for Villarreal B, helping the team get promoted; in October 2021, he made his La Liga debut. In August 2022, he scored his first La Liga goal and was subsequently promoted to the first team. In January 2023, Bournemouth offered £22.5 million for him, but the transfer fell through due to a hamstring injury. After recovering, he scored 9 goals between April and May. In June 2023, he signed with Chelsea until 2031; in August, he made his Premier League debut against Liverpool and scored his first goal for the club on August 25. During the 2023–24 season, he scored 14 goals in 35 Premier League matches, finishing as the second-highest scorer among African players. Alongside Cole Palmer, they became the first Chelsea players since the 2017–18 season to each score 10 or more league goals. In September 2024, he extended his contract until 2033. In May 2025, he received a red card for deliberately elbowing an opponent during a Premier League match against Newcastle. He has represented Senegal at the U20 level and was first called up to the national team in November 2018. In September 2022, he made his debut for the senior squad; in November, he was included in the 26-man World Cup squad and made his debut as a substitute against the Netherlands in the group stage. In December 2023, he was part of the Africa Cup of Nations squad, coming off the bench in all four matches. In October 2024, during a qualifier against Malawi, he scored his first goal for Senegal.
